Gold washing plant work well in Russia
A few years ago, our engineers were in a mining area in the Russian Far East, commissioning a 300-ton-per-hour gold washing and beneficiation plant. Due to the region's harsh cold and frozen ground, the team optimized the screening and washing processes accordingly. As the unit operated at full capacity, the separation of sediment was smooth and gold recovery was efficient. The client praised the stable performance of the gold mining equipment.

Gold Washing Plant: Definition & Core Function
A gold washing plant is a mechanized mineral processing system specifically designed for extracting alluvial (placer) gold from riverbeds, sand deposits, gravel, and eluvial formations . Its primary objective is to separate gold particles—ranging from coarse nuggets to fine 40-micron flakes—from soil, clay, stones, and other gangue materials through physical gravity separation, achieving efficient gold enrichment without chemical additives . Unlike full-scale gold processing plants that produce pure gold, a gold washing plant generates gold-rich concentrates that require further refining (e.g., smelting) to obtain finished gold products .
Screening & Classification: The initial stage removes oversized rocks (up to 70cm) using trommel screen or vibrating screen equipped with multi-layered, replaceable meshes (3-20mm apertures) . High-pressure water jets clean surface soil from gravel to ensure thorough separation .
De-sliming & Scrubbing: For ore with high clay content, rotary scrubbers or spiral washers mechanically agitate and dilute materials to free gold particles trapped in clay matrices . Low-mud ore bypasses this step and proceeds directly to gravity separation .
Gravity Separation: The core process employs equipment such as sluice boxes, jigs, centrifugal concentrators, and shaking tables . Sluice boxes and jigs handle roughing operations, while centrifugal concentrators and shaking tables refine concentrates—capturing both coarse and fine gold with recovery rates ranging from 90% to 98% .
Tailings Disposal: Processed waste materials (tailings) are discharged systematically, with advanced models featuring circulating water systems to minimize environmental impact .
Feeding System: Hopper feeders with vibrating grizzly bars or dredge pumps for continuous material supply .
Washing & Screening Equipment: Trommel screens (500×1300mm to 1500×4500mm), rotary scrubbers, spiral washers, or hydraulic vibrating screens .
Beneficiation Tools: Sluice boxes (customizable to 2-6m length), centrifugal concentrators, jigs, and shaking tables .
Auxiliary Components: Water pumps, high-pressure spray guns, diesel generators/electric motors (10-75KW), and mobile chassis (trailer-mounted or skid-mounted) .
Versatility: Configurable for small (1-20 TPH) to large-scale (up to 800 TPH) operations, adaptable to dryland, beachside, river, or mountainous mining sites .
Portability & Flexibility: Modular design enables quick disassembly, transportation, and on-site installation—ideal for remote locations with limited infrastructure .
Cost-Efficiency: Low labor requirements, energy consumption, and maintenance costs; simple operation requires only 2-3 days of training .
Environmental Compliance: Chemical-free processes, circulating water systems, and mercury-free concentration methods meet global environmental standards .
Durability: Constructed with wear-resistant steel or polyurethane components to withstand continuous heavy-duty operation .
