A Diamond Washing Plant, also known as a Diamond Processing Plant or Mobile Diamond Mine, is a specialized and modular facility designed to extract diamonds from alluvial or eluvial deposits (such as gravel, sand, and clay). Unlike fixed plants, these are often portable or semi-portable, allowing them to be set up close to the mining site, which is crucial for remote locations where most alluvial diamond deposits are found.
The core principle is to separate diamonds from the surrounding waste material (gangue) based on differences in their physical properties, such as density, size, and hydrophobicity.
Application of diamond washing plant
Diamond washing plant could be used to mine diamond mixed with sand in paleochannel,paleo-riverbed,alluvial placer,and zirconium in raw ore.
Iron ore needs to be retrieved firstly by magnetic separator if the percentage is high in the raw ore,then gold,diamond,zirconium will be concentrated,or the effectiveness will be affected.
This set of mining equipment are composed of several gravity concentrators.The concentration ratio could reach as high as 1:1000,and the recovery efficiency about 90% after series of separation.
