1. Brief Introduction
A centrifuge is a mechanical device that uses centrifugal force to separate materials, widely used in mineral processing, metallurgy, and chemical industries. In the mineral processing industry, centrifuges are mainly used to recover precious metals such as gold and silver from ores, and are particularly adept at processing fine-grained gold ore.
Core Principle: Centrifuges generate a powerful centrifugal force field through high-speed rotation, significantly amplifying the density difference between light and heavy minerals. This causes high-density minerals (such as gold) to settle rapidly and separate from low-density gangue. For example, in a 60G centrifugal force field, the density difference between gold and quartz can reach 60 times that of a natural gravitational field, greatly improving the recovery efficiency of fine-grained gold.
Main Types and Features:
1. Knelson Centrifuge: Employs a concentric cone structure and achieves fluidized bed separation through backflushing water flow. It can achieve a enrichment ratio of over 1000 times for fine-grained gold (<0.074mm), with a recovery rate of 95%-98%.
Suitable for various scenarios such as placer gold mines and flotation tailings, it has the advantages of small footprint and large processing capacity. 2. Centrifugal Jigs (e.g., Paradyne centrifugal jigs) Combining centrifugal force and water flow pulsation, this type of jig offers high separation efficiency, with a processing capacity of up to 100 tons/hour, equivalent to multiple traditional jigs.
Application Advantages
High Recovery Rate: Fine-grained gold recovery rate can be increased to over 90%, and concentrate grade can be increased by 300-1000 times.
Strong Adaptability: Can process ores with a wide particle size range and can be used for the recovery of residual gold from old tailings.
Process Optimization: Often used in combination with gold mills, shaking tables, and other equipment to form a highly efficient "first dissociation, then separation" process, achieving a comprehensive recovery rate of over 95%.
