A jet suction dredger is a high-efficiency dredging and sand extraction engineering vessel that integrates scouring and suction functions. It operates through a coordinated "jet-and-suction" process. The high-pressure water pump generates a water flow, which impacts the underwater sediment through a water gun, suspending it. The sand suction pump then transports the resulting mixture of mud and water via suction pipes and pipelines to a designated location.

The working efficiency of the jet suction dredger relies on the perfect coordination of both "jetting" and "suction" processes. High-pressure water pumps generate high-speed water jets to impact and suspend sediment on the riverbed, while sand suction pumps then extract the sand-water mixture and transport it to a designated location through pipelines.
Key components include the hull, power unit (diesel engine or generator set), high-pressure water pump, sand suction pump, dredging pipe, and suction head (equipped with a high-pressure water gun).
It is suitable for environments with sandy, non-cohesive soil, or soft slurry substrates, such as reservoirs, artificial lakes, rivers, and ports, where there are minimal underwater weeds and entangling debris.
The main advantages are low investment, low operating costs, simple operation and maintenance, high flexibility, and long-distance material transport.
